The WaterChef® U9000 Premium Under-Sink Water Filtration System provides the ultimate in performance, durability and convenience in a stylish and compact, stainless steel system!
Your Ultimate Drinking Water Solution!
Combining the power of solid carbon block filtration with a unique, proprietary blend of additional filter medias, WaterChef’s innovative Big Block™ Filtration technology maximizes contaminant reduction and delivers up to 1,000 GALLONS (3,785 L) of freshly filtered water with a single cartridge!
This unique formula provides unsurpassed contaminant reduction for a broad range of common tap water contaminants including: Lead, Chlorine, Chloramine, Cysts (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium), Chlorine By-Products (such as Trihalomethanes), Synthetic Contaminants (such as Pesticides and Herbicides), Industrial Contaminants (such as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)) and Petroleum Contaminants (such as Benzene and MTBE), while allowing beneficial minerals (such as Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium) to remain in the water.
The result is great tasting water that is cleaner, healthier and naturally balanced (without the de-mineralization and "flat" taste associated with other water filtration technologies such as reverse osmosis and distillation).
Stop being nickel and dimed to death by small, costly and less effective filter replacement cartridges. A water filter should transform your water, not your wallet. With WaterChef you’ll enjoy premium quality water at a fraction of the cost. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of a 1,000 GALLON rated cartridge capacity (That’s over 7,500 plastic water bottles!).
For most households, that translates into just ONE cartridge replacement per year! (Compare that to the cartridges for pitcher filters, faucet filters and refrigerator filters that are so small that they can require as many as 25 replacements per year!) And, fewer cartridges mean less waste for the environment too!
Intelligent Monitoring takes the guesswork out of cartridge replacement. Unlike other systems with simple timer-based monitors, WaterChef’s Intelligent Monitor measures actual usage, so you will never discard a cartridge prematurely, or continue using one that has exceeded its rated capacity again.
GREEN: normal system operation
YELLOW: under 10% of capacity remains (time to order a replacement cartridge)
RED: capacity has been reached (replace cartridge to insure peak performance)
WaterChef’s Designer Series Faucet is a premium grade, single-temperature faucet that features solid forged brass construction, a ceramic disc valve for reliability, a spout with aerator tip for a steady stream and the convenience of LED indicators (for the Intelligent Monitor) built right into the faucet base ring.
This faucet compliments today’s high-end kitchens with its versatile design and choice of four premium finishes. Choose from polished chrome, polished brass, brushed nickel and oil-rubbed bronze finishes.
WaterChef premium water filter systems feature powerful, innovative filtering technologies that provide superior contaminant reduction and longer lasting filter cartridges.
Our systems are independently tested and certified by WQA (the Water Quality Association) and IAPMO, two of the most trusted testing laboratories in the water filter industry. They test WaterChef systems against the most rigorous testing standards (NSF/ANSI Standards) to provide validated performance claims that you can trust. In an industry riddled with unvalidated performance claims, TRUST is what independent certification is all about.
WaterChef Premium Countertop Filtration Systems are quality crafted from the finest, most durable materials available and are backed by a full LIFETIME Limited Warranty, one of the longest, most comprehensive warranties in the industry!

Q: How often do the filter cartridges in the WaterChef U9000 System need to be changed?
A: WaterChef filtration products are all about performance, style and value! Not only do you get a system that looks great and performs to your expectations, but one that is also designed to provide up to 1,000 Gallons with a single filter cartridge! That means an average family of four can enjoy freshly filtered water for just pennies a day and the convenience of one cartridge replacement per year – great for your wallet and your busy schedule! Of course, if you have more thirsty people in your family or just simply enjoy a lot of water, you can replace the filter more often.
Q: How will I know when it is time to replace my filter cartridge?
A: The U9000 system has an electronic Intelligent Monitor that tracks how much water has gone through the filter, so it will let you know when to change it. And, it will also give you a warning before the cartridge is completely used up so you will have time to obtain a new filter cartridge.
Q: Why do the filter cartridges need to be changed?
A: WaterChef filter systems have been certified to reduce the contaminants claimed on the performance data sheet. Every filter has a limited amount of capacity for the contaminants it captures. Even though water is still flowing through it and may still taste fresh, there comes a point when it is no longer providing the performance it had when new. Therefore, it is important to change the filter on time to get the best performance from it. There is nothing wrong with changing it ahead of time if you notice a return of off taste or odor similar to the tap water. A sudden or temporary change may be normal with seasonal factors or activities of the municipal water provider.
Q: Why is independent testing and certification so important?
A: In an industry riddled with unvalidated and misleading performance claims, having a trusted, independent “third party” organization like WQA evaluate a water filtration system against an "official" standard or protocol that has been developed by industry experts, public health officials and consumer representatives, gives you the ability to make a sound and informed choice about the performance claims of the system. Some water filter manufacturers base their performance claims on internal test results from their own laboratories, but you would have to know them very well to trust whether the performance claims they make for their products are true or misleading. Having a trusted organization “validate” performance claims gives you the peace of mind you are looking for when it comes to selecting the right system for you and your family.
Q: Does this system remove beneficial minerals from the water?
A: No. Beneficial minerals (such as calcium and magnesium) pass freely through the system, leaving you with water that is both great tasting and naturally balanced.
Q: Does this system reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from the water?
A: No. TDS in drinking water is usually attributed to the amount of calcium, potassium and magnesium that is present in your water supply. These are beneficial minerals that are known to support good health. WaterChef systems have been designed to reduce unwanted contaminants, while leaving the beneficial minerals in.
Q: Does this system reduce sulfur odor (rotten egg smell) in my water?
A: Yes. All WaterChef drinking water systems have been independently tested and certified by WQA for the reduction of odor, including the rotten egg smell that is often associated with sulfur.
Q: Does this system remove fluoride from the water?
A: No. While it does have a limited ability to reduce fluoride, it is very dependent upon the pH of the water. If you have had your water tested and find that fluoride is a major concern for you, we recommend finding a reputable manufacturer for either a reverse osmosis or distillation system. Be sure that the system has been independently tested and certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA) for fluoride reduction.
Q: Can the WaterChef U9000 System be used with an instant hot water appliance to provide "hot" filtered water?
A: Yes, under certain conditions. When the U9000 System is used in conjunction with an instant hot water appliance, a dual temperature (vented) faucet is required. A single temperature faucet (included with the U9000 System) is only intended for use with cold (ambient) water supplies.
