With 2019 here, we are all looking for ways to be healthier, better versions of ourselves. While it is recommended we drink water in ounces equal to half of our body weight in pounds every day, few of us are reaching the mark.

So if you made the resolution to increase your daily water intake, or want to make the resolution now, here are some tips to keep you on track.

1. Swap it Out

One easy way to increase your daily water intake is to choose water instead of other beverages you normally consume throughout the day.

We’re not saying you have to give up your morning coffee but maybe instead of three cups of coffee you can have one and then switch to sipping water. This is probably the most natural and least intrusive way to implement water into your day.

2. Carry a Reusable Water Bottle

One of the obstacles we face in drinking more water is not having it readily available. With a reusable water bottle you can carry your own filtered water with you wherever you go. You then avoid facing the choice of buying a plastic water bottle or simply going without water when you're on the go.

Whether it is your commute to work or a fun night out, give yourself the healthy option.

3.  Make it Interesting!

We know it’s not easy to give up your favorite soda in favor of water but water doesn’t have to boring. Infuse it with fruit and herbs for a tasty and healthy option!

4. Don’t Do it Alone

There are times when nothing is harder than being the only one in a room making the choice to be healthier. Find a buddy to join in this resolution with you. Whether it is your spouse, friend, or coworker— there is strength in numbers!

Having someone to hold you accountable and chose water with you instead of the many other beverages that are at your fingertips can make all the difference.
